BJP and RSS creating buzz with Bhakti' movement in villages

ADILABAD: In a strategic move, which can yield political dividends, their apparent end aim, the BJP, RSS and their frontal organisations have given birth to a mass-based ‘Bhakti’ movement in villages and towns.

Hindu religious programmes are being propagated by ‘Hindu Vahini’ ‘Bhajrang Dal’ and VHP.

Ironically, two different groups took out separate processions in Adilabad town to celebrate ‘Srirama Navami’. While one was graced by BRS legislator Jogu Ramanna the other was led by senior BJP leaders Payal Shankar and Suhasini Reddy. As part of a long-term programme, Hanuman Chalisa exclusives are slated for Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Rakesh Reddy of Adilabad said ‘There is a good demand for the team which organizes hanuman Chalisa Parayan in villages, where it is fast catching up’.
Religious programmes are on the rise in the erstwhile Adilabad district and a good number of people are attending the ‘Bhakti’ programs for the last two months.

Most of these programs are related to Lord Ram, Krishna and Hanuman and epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana.

Meanwhile, leaders of other political parties are also desperate to participate in such programs as they fear that if left otherwise, the BJP leaders would take advantage of the events as they hold sentimental value to the ‘voters’.
A new fad has been installing idols of ‘Abhayanjaneya Swamy’ in a multitude of villages and towns, including at the entrances.

In a significant development, apart from the BJP leaders, those from the Congress and BRS leaders are also participating in traditional attire, lest they miss the electoral bus.

Palvai Harish Babu, a senior BJP leader from Sirpur (T) Assembly constituency said that they have been organizing mass chanting of hanuman Chalisa and Akhand Hari Nam Sankeerthan in villages to tremendous response.
