It's going to be repeat of Kurukshetra: Prakash Javadekar
Mr Javadekar said if the Telangana state government could provide 24x7 electricity in the state, it was because of the NDA government.
Hyderabad: Harking back to mythology, Union HRD minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday expressed the confidence that the Pandavas — referring to the five party MLAs in Telangana state — would defeat the Kauravas — 100 TRS legislators — in the Assembly elections and bring BJP to power in the state.
Mr Javadekar said, “Everyone knows who will win when the Pandavas and the Kauravas fight. The same will be repeated in upcoming Assembly elections when our Pandavas fight with the Kauravas.”
He was addressing a huge public rally in Suryapet to mark the conclusion of the first phase of the Praja Chaitanya Yatra undertaken by BJP state president Dr K. Laxman.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had put an end to 40 years of ‘family-rule’ in the country, but Telangana state still continued to be under ‘family-rule’.
Mr Javadekar said if the Telangana state government could provide 24x7 electricity in the state, it was because of the NDA government which had cleared all the power project proposals on a fast track while he was environment minister.
He accused Chief Min-ister K. Chandrashekar Rao of running a 'commissions government' which was taking kickbacks from contractors and awarding contracts without studying wheth-er the projects were useful for the people or not.
Mr Javadekar congratulated Dr Laxman for the huge success of Jana Chaitanya Yatra which covered 48 Assembly constituencies in 22 districts.
“This is only the first phase and it will go on till the elections. The response it generated clearly indicates that the BJP will come to power in Telangana state in 2019,” he said.
Mr Laxman, in his address said, “The huge response to yatra in all districts proves that people are vexed with the family and corrupt rule of KCR and TRS government and are eager to teach them a fitting lesson. I will continue second phase after our party president Amit Shah’s visit to state on July 13.” He alleged that TRS government could not fulfil even a single poll promise made in 2014.
“KCR cheated BCs, minorities and all other sections. He promised '1,000 crore for MBCs two years ago. They could not classify who are MBCs till now let alone spending funds,” Dr Laxman said.
