Hyderabad: The TRS on Friday hit back at BJP general secretary Ram Madhav’s jibe that its legislators lacked ‘manliness’. TRS legislator A. Jeevan Reddy said Mr Madhav’s statement was more suited to BJP leaders who lost to the TRS in every election since 2014.

Addressing mediapersons here, Mr Jeevan Reddy said, “We didn’t expect a national leader of the stature of Ram Madhav to use unparliamentary language against leaders of other parties. We have maintained restraint all these days though local BJP leaders used abusive language against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, his family members and the TRS government. We are forced to pay back in the same coin. Ram Madhav is talking about manliness. Everyone knows who is more manly. The BJP lost even its deposit in all the byelections held in the state since 2014. In some seats, they did not have candidates. This proves who has manliness in Telangana,” he said.

The TRS legislator the BJP had only five MLAs in the state, all of them from Hyderabad and they couldn’t win a single division in their constituencies in the GHMC elections. “This shows their five MLAs lack manliness,” he said and sought an unconditional apology from Mr Madhav.
