KT Rama Rao’s copycat claim upsets BJP leaders
It all started with Mr Rama Rao’s Twitter post.
Hyderabad: TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao got into a battle over credit for innovative schemes with a BJP leader and an activist on Twitter on Saturday,.
It all started with Mr Rama Rao’s Twitter post that said: “Last year Telangana’s Rythu Bandhu inspired Government of India to launch PM Kisan. Now it is Telangana’s Mission Bhagiratha that inspired Government of India to launch Har Ghar Jal Yojana (sic)”.
Reacting to this, one Sagar, who hails from Warangal district, replied: “KTR claims Mission Bhagiratha is copied by BJP, KTR visited Gujarat to study the same scheme. It amuses me about the arrogance of KTR (sic)”.
Then, Surat BJP vice-president P.V.S. Sarma posed some questions to Mr Rama Rao: “Dear KTR garu, Isn’t (it) true that you visited Gujarat to study the water grid system? Praised the water grid system and Narmada canal water being lifted into river Sabarmati? Implemented the lift irrigation in Kaleshwaram based on that? (sic).”
Mr Rama Rao replied: “Dear Sarma Ji, Sorry to disappoint you but Mission Bhagiratha was inspired by a comprehensive drinking water project executed by our CM sir in Siddipet constituency in 1998.”
