Allies ask Congress to put house in order
The JD (U) demanded district chairman posts along with 10 Assembly constituencies.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The UDF allies have asked the Congress leadership to put their house in order and maintain harmony in the party. During the talks with the allies, the RSP, CMP, JDU and KC (J) also sought appropriate positions for them, especially as KC (M) has quit the front. The JD(U) leaders, Varghese George, Shaikh P. Harris and K. P. Mohanan, were ready to forget the past especially in the case of party chairman M. P. Veerendra Kumar who was defeated in the Lok Sabha election from Palakkad.
They also raised the poll defeat in Nemom Assembly constituency, but did not press the matter. Kerala Congress (Jacob) chairman Johnny Nellore and his deputy Anoop Jacob demanded that they should be given UDF chairman posts in Ernakulam, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts. The JD (U) demanded district chairman posts along with 10 Assembly constituencies. The RSP and CMP also wanted more responsibilities in the UDF.
