Ex-MLAs in ticket race from BJP, Cong. in Nizamabad
Nizamabad: More than half a dozen former MLAs are vying for poll tickets from the opposition Congress and BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections in the erstwhile Nizamabad district in the wake of the announcement of BRS candidates for all 9 segments in the district.
Former MLA and BJP Kamareddy district president Aruna Tara, been actively working for the past few years, is in the ticket race from Jukkal constituency. Senior Congress leader and former MLA S. Gangaram is also contending for the same ticket. In Yellareddy, ex-MLA E. Ravinder Reddy is hopeful of getting a ticket. However, BJP scores are unable to assess whether he is with the party or maintaining distance.
From Bodhan, former 3-time MLA P. Sudarshan Reddy is confident of getting a party ticket as the high command is favourable for his candidature. Presently, he is serving as TPCC treasurer. On the same lines, ex-minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir is also vying for the same from Kamareddy.
Former Balkonda MLA Eravathri Anil left his native Balkonda constituency and applied for a ticket from the Nizamabad Urban constituency, citing the sizable number of voters from Padmashali community, to which he belongs. Congress leaders and former MLCs R. Bhupathi Reddy and Arikela Narsa Reddy from Nizamabad Rural constituency and former Zilla Parishad chairman K. Venkataramana Reddy from Kamareddy are expecting ticket from BJP.
