Mynampally accuses Devender Reddy of corruption

Hyderabad: BRS legislator Mynampally Hanumantha Rao got involved in a fresh controversy with his followers levelling corruption charges against Medak MLA Padma Devender Reddy's husband Devender Reddy. Hanumantha Rao is hoping to secure the Medak seat nomination for his son Rohit.

Following the allegations, Devender Reddy and his followers went to the Vana Durga Bhavani temple at Edupayalu on Thursday and swore on oath that he was not corrupt.

A few hours later, Hanumantha Rao's followers organised a huge rally of cars and two-wheelers and visited the Edupayalu temple where they in turn swore that Devender Reddy as involved in illegal activities.

BRS leader G. Narender and others told mediapersons that they had submitted evidence to the Goddess Durga Bhavani regarding Devender Reddy. They alleged that Devender Reddy had looted money belonging to the Edupayala temple and diverting the funds at Konapur primary agriculture cooperative society (PACS).

“When Devender Reddy was in the Konapur PACS, he diverted '2 crore and the collector suspended him. Devender Reddy obtained stay orders from the court," Narender alleged.

Narender and his associates had earlier challenged Devender Reddy to swear on oath at the Edupayala temple that he had not indulged in illegal activities. Accepting the challenge, Devender Reddy visited the temple on Thursday.
