Hyderabad: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi ruling out granting reservation to any community in excess of 50 per cent cap, Shabbir Ali, the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, on Wednesday accused Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of deliberately misleading Muslims with false assurances.

Mr Ali said that the Chief Minister had hogged the limelight and projected himself as the saviour of the Muslim and ST communities by passing a legislation to grant Muslims 12 per cent reservation and STs 10 per cent reservation, allegedly on the basis of population ratios. He asked the CM to provide some clarity on how the reservations would be implemented from the next academic year as promised.
