Congress MLA Benny Behanan tells Sitaram Yechury to oust Kodiyeri Balakrishnan
He also alleged that the Dubai Court had imposed a travel ban on Binoy following a cheating case filed by the Dubai-based Jaas Tourism LLC.
Thiruvananthapuram: Congress leader Benny Behanan has shot off a letter to CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury that his State counterpart Kodiyeri Balakrishnan should be ousted from the Politburo for having shielded and protected his son, Binoy Vinodhini Kodiyeri, who was indicted in a case of fraud and cheating in UAE.
In the letter, Congress Political Affairs Committee member Behanan claimed that the incidents which took place in the last few days had clearly shown that the position adopted by the CPM and Kodiyeri were totally wrong and contrary to facts.
He also alleged that the Dubai Court had imposed a travel ban on Binoy following a cheating case filed by the Dubai-based Jaas Tourism LLC.
The ban order on Binoy has been issued on February 1, 2018. The police have asked Binoy to surrender his passport for safe custody in the court.
“The incidents prove beyond doubt that Binoy Kodiyeri has been indicted in a case of cheating and fraud in the UAE. This issue has created a sense of utter confusion and shock among the party rank and file in Kerala, in particular and among the public at large, in general”, said Behanan.
