Jagan Mohan Reddy promises support to AgriGold-hit, minorities

Nellore: Assuring that justice would be done to the affected people of AgriGold, YSR Congress party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that unlike Chandrababu Naidu government, his governance would look after the minorities.
Speaking at an event at Hasanapuram in Atmakur segment of SPSR Nellore district on Wednesday, Jagan said, “When our government comes to power with your blessings, the assets of AgriGold would be taken over and all the affected people would get back their money."

Chandrababu Naidu, in his party manifesto, promised to provide free education to minorities from KG to PG and working capital to Muslim traders but failed to fulfil any of the poll promises.

Chandrababu Naidu has been playing hide-and-seek with minorities, Jagan said, pointing out that he ignored Muslims when he wanted to get closer to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and appeased them to distance the BJP.  

He said, “Since the Union Budget was presented, Naidu has not come out in the open to announce his stand but was only confined to leaking views through his friendly media."

Village secretariats would be set up to ensure that all welfare schemes are implemented for the minorities besides giving employment to locals.

“Education would be taken up on a priority basis. All professional courses would be entitled for fees reimbursement and under Amma Vodi scheme, the mother would get money for sending her two children to schools which would improve the standard of living.

Aarogyasri scheme would be applicable for treatment in big cities like Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru. Pension will be paid during the period of recovery, he said.

On reservations, he pointed out that some technicalities were hindering the plan.
 to provide reservations in jobs as the constitution does not allow reservations based on religion, however all weaker sections would be benefited from the Navaratnas.

Sincerity, integrity and credibility are the three qualities of a good politician which lack in Chandrababu Naidu and the system has to be changed by infusing good practices into politics by rejecting people who go back on the poll promises, he said.

Praja Sankalpa Yatra to stop for left-backed stir

Extending support to the bandh call given by the Left parties, YSR Congress party president and Leader of the Andhra Pradesh Opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy decided to halt his padayatra - Praja Sankalpa Yatra on Thursday. Jagan is currently touring in Atmakur constituency of SPSR Nellore district as part of his padayatra.

Following the injustice meted out to Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget allocations as well as granting Special Status, the Left parties - CPI and CPI (M) called a state-wide bandh on Thursday. Extending solidarity with the leaders, Jagan called upon people to unite and make the protest successful.

Meanwhile the Praja Sankalpa Yatra of the Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh completed 1,100 kilometres on Thursday. The walkathon attained the 1,100 km mark at Kaligiri in Nellore district on the 82 day of the yatra.
Marking the completion of the milestone, Jagan hoisted the party flag and planted a sapling at Kaligiri village. Earlier, the YSRCP chief completed walking 1,000 kilometres in Nellore district, marking the occasion a monument was installed in Saidapuram of Venkatagiri constituency.
