People will teach DMK a lesson: RB Udayakumar
The minister claimed that his AIADMK had formed a formidable alliance to face the LS polls and the combine cannot be defeated.
Chennai: People will teach a lesson to the opposition DMK in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, for attempting to scuttle the implementation of the people-friendly initiatives of the State government, said revenue minister R.B. Udayakumar.
Launching the Amma Maternity Nutrition Kit worth Rs. 4,000, for pregnant women, at the PHC in T. Kallupatti near Tirumangalam in Madurai on Thursday the minister questioned the DMK’s rationale in opposing the one-time financial aid of Rs 2,000 being distributed to the below the poverty line (BPL) families across Tamil Nadu.
“Let them (DMK) first clarify whether assistance should be provided to the poor or not. They should not stop the schemes meant for the poor families. Definitely the people will teach the DMK a lesson in the upcoming Lok Sabha election,” he told reporters.
The minister claimed that his AIADMK had formed a formidable alliance to face the LS polls and the combine cannot be defeated.
Meanwhile, cooperation minister Sellur K. Raju lashed out at the DMK saying the opposition party “lacked principles and was only opportunistic.” “The DMK has no principles. It is opportunistic. They are only after power for personal gains and not to serve the people,” he claimed.
