ADILABAD: International Women's Day came in handy for leaders of Telangana Rashtra Samiti to popularise the party among women by highlighting various welfare schemes being implemented for them by the state government.
During the three-day celebrations to mark International Women’s Day, TRS ministers, MPs, MLAs and ZP chairpersons highlighted welfare schemes, such as Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, KCR Kits, Aasara Pensions for women and hike in salaries of Anganwadi workers.
Political analysts say this is being done to swing women voters within the state in favour of ruling TRS. Party leaders even visited on Tuesday houses of women beneficiaries and highlighted how Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is working for their uplift.

Incidentally, ministers, MPs, MLAs and ZP chairpersons have been participating in Mahila Bandhu programme, projecting Chandrasekhar Rao as Women’s Bandhu on lines of Rythu Bandhu.
Komaram Bheem Asifabad ZP chairperson Kova Laxmi visited some villages and distributed KzCR Kits to women beneficiaries. She also took selfies with them. She said meeting women on International Women’s Day is only to assure that the government is for their empowerment.
Some TRS leaders on the day tried to project the Chief Minister as brother of women by encouraging them to tie “rakhis” to the CM’s portrait.
