Vijayawada: Former undivided AP chief minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, who has joined the BJP recently, met Union home minister Amit Shah and BJP national general secretary B.L. Santhosh separately in New Delhi on Saturday.

The visits of the former CM have been described as courtesy calls during which they discussed ongoing political developments in AP, Telangana and Karnataka.

Kiran Kumar had met BJP national president J.P. Nadda on Friday.

BJP sources say BJP leadership intends to utilise the services of the former chief minister as Karnataka is going for polls, followed by Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Kiran Kumar Reddy had served as the last chief minister of undivided AP. He had rebelled and opposed Congress leadership’s decision to bifurcate AP and set up the new state of Telangana in 2014.

Sources say once Kiran Kumar Reddy returns from Delhi, he will be invited to BJP headquarters in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to address party leaders. Leaderships of both states will decide how best the former CM’s services could be best utilised by BJP in TS and AP.

It is said the BJP national leadership wants to use the services of Kiran Kumar Reddy in AP, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

For the time being, Kiran Kumar Reddy will be staying put in Delhi to meet all top leaders of BJP.
