Kottayam: Union Home Minister  Rajnath Singh on Saturday  hinted at  an understanding  between the LDF and the UDF and said that both the fronts  were preparing for a ring exchange.

Inaugurating the election campaign of NDA candidate A.G. Thankappan at Ettumanur, he said,  “the CPM and the Congress, which are fighting in the state, have exchanged their rings in West Bengal. Both party leaders even shared the dais in West Bengal. What is right now in Kerala between the two is a secret alliance. After the exchange of the rings before the elections, it will be a public thing,”  he told the huge crowd assembled at the government higher secondary school ground.

The people of Kerala perceive the NDA as a means to protest against the anti-people policies of the both the LDF and the UDF, he said and maintained that when the election results are out, the NDA  will decide who should rule the state.

He said the murder of dalit girl Jisha was  the last pointer to the breakdown of  the law and order in the state. “ The government tried to hide the heinous incident,”  he added.  “Chief Minister Oommen Chandy should reveal why he covered up the issue,” he said.
