Prashant Kishor wants older leaders kept out, restructure YSRC
The responsibility of organising the protest was entrusted to Rajya Sabha member V. Vijay Sai Reddy.
Vijayawada: The reports submitted by poll strategist Prashant Kishor to YSRC president Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy on senior leaders and in-charges of around 40 Assembly have revealed that the party would need to restructure its core team and executive committee.
The two-day plenary, schedule to commence on July 8, is likely to discuss the formation of the election committee to combat the Desam in the 2019 elections.
Two former ministers from north coastal Andhra, two spokespersons of the party and in-charges of around 40 Assembly segments may be sidelined, after the plenary sessions, accor-ding to the party sources. It is learnt that Mr Kishor had suggested that Mr Reddy direct some seniors to keep away from party activities for six months. “The YSRC chief was asked to give space to the youn-ger committed leaders in about 130 Assembly segments,” a leader said.
This was why Mr Reddy had kept the two former ministers away from the recently ‘Save Visakha Mahadharna’. The responsibility of organising the protest was entrusted to Rajya Sabha member V. Vijay Sai Reddy.
Mr Kishore observed that whenever YSRC levelled some allegations on land scams, the TD was counter-attacking by stating that the two ex-ministers were also involved scams. This had led to suffocation among the cadres.
Mr Kishor’s survey may also result in a former MLA from Prakasam district, close the Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy family, being shown the door.
