Chennai: Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal on Saturday expunged certain remarks made by both Chief Minister K Palanisamy and Leader of Opposition MK Stalin on the issue of staging protests.

Taking exception to Palanisamy's remark made on Friday while speaking about an anti-liquor protest, Stalin told the chief minister on the floor of the House that staging protest was an individual liberty and even the AIADMK in the past had staged agitations.

Subsequently, he made some remarks which were immediately expunged by the Chair.

The Speaker later expunged remarks made by Palanisamy on Friday while discussing the said protest.
