Unfortunately, in all the four districts, TRS is in power with the chairmen, vice-chairmen and majority of ZPTCs belonging to the ruling party.

WARANGAL: A lawyer in Warangal, K. Shankarachary, has alleged that he was beaten up by TRS corporator from Division 39, Siddam Raju, over a land issue here after the former filed a petition against the corporator in the court.

Shankarachary complained to the police on Sunday that Raju and six of his henchmen attacked him in the house of Division 41 corporator Poshala Padma when he went there to discuss the issue on Saturday night.

"They have plotted to kill me there itself. That’s why they asked me to come in for a discussion. They repeatedly hit me on my chest, resulting in a fracture of two ribs. They shut my nose and mouth and strangled me. Even when I shouted in pain, they did not spare me. A relative who was with me there somehow managed to pull me out of the house and we escaped. Siddam Raju kept shouting that, if not today, he would kill me some time later," he said.

According to a lawyer at the Warangal district court, he owns a land of 226 yards in Mamatha Housing Board Colony. He had purchased it in 1993. TRS corporator Siddam Raju and another leader Karne Ravinder tried to encroach upon the land. When Shankarachary questioned this, Siddam Raju said the land belonged to one Thogaru Sammaiah but failed to show proof of this for a week.

Shankarachary filed a civil suit and an injection order was issued. The notice was sent to Siddam Raju and Karne Ravinder on Saturday. Raju asked Shankarachary to come to corporator Poshala Padma's residence on Saturday night; and there, they attacked him.

"I have received threats from local MLA Nannapuneni Narender demanding that I compromise over the case or face dire consequences. He was saying that they were in the ruling party and no one should oppose them," he said.

The police filed an attempt-to-murder case against the corporator and started an investigation.
