Aspirants flood BJP with applications for party tickets

621 candidates apply including Jithender Reddy, Ramchander Rao

HYDERABAD: The Telangana BJP was on Friday flooded with applications from aspirants seeking the party ticket for the Assembly elections; 621 aspirants submitted their forms in six hours from 10 am.

At the end of five days, the party has collected 1,620 applications.
With around a 100 applications being received every hour, the party office turned festive with supporters of applicants shouting slogans supporting their leaders and praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the party.

Friday saw some serious contenders filing their applications: Former MP A.P. Jithender Reddy (Mahbubnagar), A. Rakesh Reddy, the party spokesperson, (Warangal West), Ch Vikas Rao, son of former Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, (Vemulawada) and former MLC N. Ramchander Rao (Malkajgiri).

The party will continue collecting applications till September 10. Many senior party leaders and former and current MLAs, are yet to submit their applications.
