KAKINADA: Telugu Desam leaders on Friday alleged that YSRC has conspired and deleted 13,000 votes of TD sympathizers in the Kakinada Urban area.

Former TD MLAs Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao and S.V.S.N. Varma said an active YSRC member in Kakinada Urban S. Vidya Sagar obtained Aadhaar cards of local inhabitants using ward volunteers and YCP Gruha Saradhulu.

Vidya Sagar and his men then submitted Form-7 applications online seeking cancellation of votes under three grounds – multiple votes, permanently migrated persons, and dead voters.

The former TD MLAs charged that local election authorities removed the names of 13,000 voters without even carrying out the verification process, which is against the principles of natural justice.

They accused the Kakinada additional municipal commissioner of being involved in the deletion, as he moves actively with the ruling party people.

Venkateswara Rao and Varma appealed to the Election Commission of India to conduct a probe and restore the votes deleted from the Kakinada Urban constituency. They demanded that necessary action be taken against those who have conspired to remove the votes by submitting false applications.
