TPCC Chief meets DGP seeking security for CWC, public meeting
The TPCC Chief and MP A Revanth Reddy on Friday alleged that the ruling BRS and BJP leaders hatched a plan not to permit Congress leaders to conduct public meetings at Parade Grounds. The both parties deliberately refused to conduct Congress party's Vijaya Bheri public meeting.
Stating that the Congress party would organise the public meeting at Tukkuguda, Revanth Reddy asked the Chief Minister to act wisely without any political and deliberate intentions. The government must provide security for CWC and public meetings.
"We made all arrangements for conducting a public meeting at Tukkuguda. Earlier, we verified Parade Grounds but it was denied by the government. We also considered LB stadium but the TPCC finally decided to conduct the public meeting at Tukkuguda," Revanth Reddy said.
The TPCC leaders are conducting Congress Working Committee (CWC) in Hyderabad for three days from September 16 to 18 and all set to organise a public meeting at Tukkuguda, Maheswaram Mandal, in Ranga Reddy district on September 17 in which AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge, Congress Parliamentary party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi would attend.
The TPCC Chief and MP A Revanth Reddy on Friday met the Director General of Police (DGP) Anjani Kumar at DGP office and submitted a representation seeking security for the AICC leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
In the letter, Revanth Reddy said that the TPCC is holding the CWC meeting for three days at Taj Krishna, Banjara Hills and a Public meeting at Tukkuguda of Maheswaram Mandal in Ranga Reddy district. In the meeting AICC leaders including all Presidents of PCCs, and CWC members.
"We request the DGP to provide security for the dignitaries visiting the CWC meeting in the Taj Krishna, and for the public meeting to be held at Tukkuguda in preventing untoward incidents," Revanth Reddy said.
