Centre to give Rs 1,747 crores for APSFL project
Vijayawada: AP State FiberNet Limited chairman P. Gautam Reddy on Saturday said many top Telugu Desam leaders are involved in the AP Fibernet scam, including former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and former minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.
Addressing media persons on Saturday, he said for the time being, he cannot say anything about the role of TD national general secretary Nara Lokesh.
The FiberNet chairman alleged that Tera Soft played a crucial role in the Fibernet scam. The company received the tender within a day.
He said the central government has decided to give Rs 1,747 crores to the APSFL project following the initiative taken by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He informed that the government has given special priority to digital services in the state through APSFL.
Gautam Reddy said APSFL with a share capital value of Rs 7 crore has reached a turnover of Rs 3,586.22 crore today. He said that the state government is taking steps to further strengthen the AP Fibernet project. As part of it, APSFL has bagged the Rs 1,145 crore project for the installation of CC cameras across the state. Rs 555 crore has already been spent on the project.
The company chairman said currently, AP Fibernet is providing internet services for Rs 190. As per the CM’s instructions, APSFL is trying to extend the highest-speed digital services to remote areas as well.
He said meetings have already been held with operators and MSOs for the purpose.
