 Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at Gandhi Bhavan, the Telangana Congress headquarters, here on Tuesday with scores of party workers protesting against their leaders being denied tickets for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Police deployed additional force to control the situation. The workers made their way into the Gandhi Bhavan premises, sat on the steps and raised slogans for a long time, venting their ire on the party and state chief A. Revanth Reddy.

Followers of party leader and Patancheru ticket aspirant Kata Srinivas Goud protested at Revanth Reddy’s Jubilee Hills residence and attempted to lay siege to the house.

Followers of former minister G. Chinna Reddy from Wanaparthy and Vannela Ashok from Boath, who were nominated earlier were replaced on Sunday, also protested at Gandhi Bhavan. In several other parts of the state too, Congress cadres protested after tickets were denied to their leaders.
