Two major political parties National Conference and Peoples' Democratic Party along with the CPM and the BSP stayed away from the exercise.

Hyderabad: Exit polls telecast by TV news channels unanimously predicted that the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti would be retaining power in the state, defeating the Congress-led four-party alliance. The CNX exit poll gave the TRS 66, the Congress and allies 37. It gave the BJP seven and ‘others’ which presumably includes the AIMIM, nine.

Jan Ki Baat, C-Voter seemed to predict a hung Assembly, projecting 50-65 seats for the TRS, 38-52 for the main Opposition, 4-7 seats for the BJP and 8-14 seats for others.

NETA also predicted a close contest between the two primary rivals saying the TRS could win 57 seats and Congress 46. It gave the other parties 10 seats and the BJP six.
