Bengaluru: With elections to the Legislative Assembly three months away, BJP president Amit Shah will review pre-poll preparations, including appointment of ‘page pramukhs’ at all booths, during a day-long meeting in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Sources in the party said Mr Shah’s meeting with Members of Parliament, legislators, office bearers, executive committee members, leaders of the core committee, and members of political affairs committee would be preceded by one Union ministers Prakash Javadekar and Piyush Goyal, both appointed as in-charge of the state, to monitor measures initiated by the state unit to wrest power in the Assembly elections.

The leader considers the role of ‘page pramukhs’ crucial as they have to monitor every page of the voters’ list, sources added.  Mr. Shah would also review the outcome of ongoing Parivarthana Yatra and upcoming mega rally on January 28. Mr. Shah has reportedly asked the state unit to mobilize four lakh people for the rally scheduled to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sources said the state unit, however, informed central leaders about lack of a venue in Bengaluru with a capacity for three to four lakh people, but if they organize the rally on the outskirts of Bengaluru, the chances of a repeat of poor turnout at inauguration of Parivarthana Yatra on November 2, were high. Sources said after a day-long review, Mr Shah would  address a Parivarthana Yatra at Holalkere in Chitradurga district on Wednesday.
