Kurnool: Followers of minister Gummanur Jayaram met in large numbers in Aluru on Tuesday opposing YSRC high command’s proposal to field him from Kurnool Lok Sabha constituency.

Jayaram is hesitant about shifting from his assembly constituency Aluru. He has informed the party high command about it. Despite waiting for a decision on the matter, there have been no encouraging indications from the party.

In this background, Jayaram’s followers voiced their discontent. They point out that Jayaram has been elected twice as MLA from Aluru on the YSR Congress ticket. They questioned the rationale behind denying him the ticket this time.

The followers are alleging that former minister from Karnataka B. Sriramulu is influencing YSRC into changing the candidate from Aluru. They are raising concerns that YSRC could lose Aluru if another candidate is fielded from the seat.

Representatives from various segments of party cadre, including ZPTC members, mandal parishad presidents, and leaders from six mandals participated in the meeting. They cautioned the party of non-cooperation if their plea on Jayaram's candidature is disregarded.
