Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkata Reddy accepted the challenge thrown by Mr Rama Rao and said if the Congress doesn't come to power in the next elections, he would quit politics permanently.

Hyderabad: Several Congress leaders came down heavily on IT minister K.T. Rama Rao for his rude and unsavoury comment on the Congress and its leaders, when he called it a “loafers’ party”.

On Thursday, Congress leaders asked the minister whether his comments apply to his father, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who was in the Congress earlier.

Congress MLA Komat-ireddy Venkata Reddy accepted the challenge thrown by Mr Rama Rao and said if the Congress doesn’t come to power in the next elections, he would quit politics permanently. He said it was a fact that he was asked to join the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, but it was equally a fact that he refused to join in.

TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said simply by commenting on towering personalities and major national parties like the Congress, Mr Rama Rao would not become big.

He recalled Mr Chandrasekhar Rao’s statement on merging the TRS with the Congress, and not staking a claim for the Chief Minister’s post and instead offering the post to a dalit leader — all promises that were never implemented by him. After the formation of Telangana state it was all about KCR and his family members.

“You (KTR) were raised by KCR and adopted the same language and culture. As such we cannot expect better language from you when you called Rahul Gandhi ‘Pappu’ and ‘useless’,” Mr Vikramarka said.

Telangana Pradesh Co-ngress Committee chief spokesperson Sravan Dasoju said the Congress does not have to learn lessons from a political bachcha (child) like KTR and advised him to learn about his father who was involved in human trafficking cases earlier, bef-ore he criticises the Congress leaders.

He said if the Congress leaders are loafers, doesn’t that apply to D. Srin-ivas, Gutta Sukhender Reddy, K. Kesava Rao, K.R. Amos and several other legislators who are now in the TRS?

He said Mr Rama Rao’s outburst was born out of frustration because the Delimitation Bill was not going to be passed by Parliament, and so accommodating a number of aspirants had became impossible.

He demanded that Mr Rama Rao disclose the details of the deal he entered into with the LuLu group in Davos recently, and said he suspected there might be a big scam in awarding the contract to them.

MLA A. Revanth Reddy said instead of making baseless and cheap allegations against the Congress leaders, the TRS government should have questioned the Narendra Modi government about why it has not sanctioned funds for projects in Telangana in the Union Budget.

He alleged that Mr Ch-andrasekhar Rao is afr-aid of being arrested for his involvement in corruption cases earlier and that was why the TRS MPs are silent on the inj-ustice done to Telangana state in the Budget.

V Hanumantha Rao retorted KTR comments stating if such logic need to be applied entire KCR family??report his words correctly members are also loafers.
