Captain Vijayakanth will join hands with us, says M Karunanidhi
Karunanidhi said a total 4,362 candidates from Tamil Nadu and 71 for Puducherry were interviewed in 12 days.
Chennai: DMK chief M. Karunanidhi on Tuesday said he is hopeful of DMDK joining his party front, but declined to give the reasons for the delay in finalising the alliance.
“The fruit is ripening. When it will slip into the milk has not been decided”, he told reporters, after formal completion of party’s interview for selection of candidates to contest the Assembly elections.
Answering a query, he said the DMK had not invited any other party to the alliance. Karunanidhi also said the party’s election manifesto would be released in two or three days.
Earlier, the candidates’ interviews concluded with DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin, who had applied for Kolathur constituency, answering questions from party leaders M. Karunanidhi, general secretary K. Anbazhagan and principal secretary K. Duraimurugan.
Karunanidhi said a total 4,362 candidates from Tamil Nadu and 71 for Puducherry were interviewed in 12 days. The party earned Rs 12.37 crore from the application fees paid by the candidates.
