Sajjala predicts YSRC sweep in ULB polls
The state advisor said they were confident of winning 90% wards and 100% corporations and municipalities in urban local body polls
VIJAYAWADA: YSR Congress state general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has predicted that the party would fare exceedingly well in the upcoming urban local body polls.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday, the state government advisor said that they were confident of winning 90% wards and 100% municipal corporations and municipalities in the urban local body polls as the people in the state were supporting Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said that they fared better than in 2019 in the recent gram panchayat elections by ensuring maximum gram panchayats to their party supported candidates.
Taking pot shots at Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh for abusing people, he castigated actor and TD legislator Balakrishna for slapping a party supporter during his visit to Hindupur and faulted Ashok Gajapathi Raju for slapping a woman supporter. He said that frustration of the party chief has run into the party leaders and this was leading them to such atrocious behaviour.
Maintaining that a series of welfare schemes initiated by their government reached 95% of the people in the state, he appealed to the people to support their party in the upcoming urban local body polls in the state. He stated that this was even more important if they wished to get their problems resolved.
