TRS dissidents organise meet against Sattupalli MLA
The leaders warned that they will otherwise be forced to work against Venkata Veeraiah in the next assembly general elections
KHAMMAM: Ruling party leaders, including sarpanches and directors of primary agricultural cooperative societies (PACS) in Tallada mandal, have given an ultimatum to Sattuplli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah to change his rude behaviour when dealing with fellow party workers.
The dissident leaders, who met at Tallada, warned that they will otherwise be forced to work against Venkata Veeraiah in the next assembly general elections. Following the meeting, former Tallada PACS chairman Jakkampudi Krishnamurthy charged the Sattuplli MLA of being an opportunist and ignoring long-standing TRS leaders in Sattupalli constituency.
Significantly, among those who attended the meeting were supporters of former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and former MP Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy. In 2018 assembly elections, many of them had worked for Pidamarthi Ravi, who contested as TRS candidate, but lost to Venkata Veeraiah, who was then with Telugu Desam. After becoming an MLA, Venkata Veeraiah crossed over to the ruling TRS.
Former Tallada sarpanch Vemireddy Krishna Reddy alleged that a false case had been booked against his son at the behest of Sattuplli MLA. He said such divisive politics will harm the interests of TRS in future.
Mallaram upa sarpanch Y. Narasimha Rao said Venkata Veeraiah is encouraging groupism within the party and undermining senior TRS leaders. Kalakodima sarpanch Kalakodima Yesu warned that the Sattupalli MLA may have to pay a heavy price in the next assembly elections.
TRS leaders G. Veera Reddy, Kommineni Venkateswarlu, Dirisala Narasimha Rao, K.V. Rejarla, MPTC Kommineni Prabhakara Rao, Pothuraju Kotaiah, Devena Ramakrishna, Eruva Gopala Rao, Tallada PACS director Anantharamlu, Kotteti Brahma Reddy, Tummalapalli Ramesh and former sarpanch Pinapala Narvaneni Laxman Rao were among those attended to the meeting organised against Venkata Veeraiah.
