Vishakapatnam: The BJP’s state political feedback Pramukh, Lanka Dinakar, has alleged that the ruling YSRC leaders had discussed much of the deals and commissions with the investors before the start of the Global Investors Summit 2023.

Much efforts were also made by the ruling party leaders to make their close associates invest in AP, during the summit talks, he said.

Addressing the media here, Dinakar said the main intention of the summit was to grab hydro and solar projects in north coastal Andhra for the ruling party’s favourites. The more deserving applicants were ignored, he alleged.

He said GOs were issued by the state government prior to the Visakhapatnam summit, vis-a-vis the MoUs entered into by the Shirdi Sai Engineering Ltd, Indosol and Arabindo for the hydro power projects. All these entities were said to be close associates of the ruling party leaders, he said.

He questioned whether Indosol has the capacity to establish a unit with an investment of ₹20,836 crore as per their request letter dated October 19, 2022. “Their creditworthiness is not at all on par with the size of project, with 2.50 lakh acres  mentioned for lease only. Then, how much land in lakhs of acres would be required for them for outright sale, at the rate of ₹3 lakh per acre, instead of the state government proposal for ₹5 lakh per acre, as request by the Indosol,” he asked. The company’s authorised capital was ₹10 lakh and  paid up capital ₹1 lakh. “Where is the source of  investment for ₹20,836 crore and whose money is this,”  Dinakar asked.

Further, the promoters of Indosol and the Shirdi Sai Electricals Ltd are the same, he averred.

Dinakar said the National Hydro Power Corporation Ltd had proposed to set up seven projects two years ago. But the public sector company having 45 years of experience and worth ₹31,500 crore  was ignored. On January 3 this year, the state government replied to the NHPC that the projects were given to private companies, he said.
