Telangana Congress vows 10 per cent quota to tribals
He also promised that the Congress would repay all the Indiramma housing bills and allocate more funds for additional room and toilet.
Warangal: The Congress party would provide 10 percent reservations to the tribals, as per the population, if voted to power in the 2019 elections, said TPCC President, N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.
He was addressing a public meeting at Mahbubabad as part of his Praja Chaitanya bus yatra on Sunday and said that dalits and tribals in the state were completely neglected in the TRS regime. He also promised that the Congress would repay all the Indiramma housing bills and allocate more funds for additional room and toilet.
“The Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekar Rao, ridiculed the Indiramma housing scheme and promised better houses to the poor. How many in Mahbubabad got the double bedroom house?” he asked. The TPCC chief further questioned CM KCR over his failure to increase the reservations of tribals as per the population. “When former CM NTR could raise the reservations from four to six percent for the tribals, why did KCR fail to increase the same as per the current population statistics in the state?” he demanded.
