Congress ends suspense, to induct seven rebel JD(S) MLAs

Mysuru: Ending the suspense, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said in Mandya that the Congress will induct the seven suspended Janata Dal (Secular) MLAs into the party, a view echoed by JD (S) leader N. Cheluvarayaswamy, who said he would contest the next assembly polls on a Congress ticket.

Mr Siddaramaiah said this after inaugurating Sri Beereswara Chennakeshavaswamy temple at Tirumalapura village in Mandya district, on Monday. He declined to comment any further on the subject.

The suspended Janata Dal (Secular) MLAs include Cheluvarayaswamy, Zameer Ahmed Khan, Ramesh Babu, Ramesh Bandisiddegowda and Ramakrishna.

Mr Cheluvarayaswamy said, “Chief Minsiter  Siddaramaiah is our leader. We have accepted his leadership. He will become the next Chief Minister and  I will contest on a Congress ticket from the Nagamangala constituency,” he said.
