KCR angry over Amit Shah’s charge
Mr Rao denied that his party had any hand in the turmeric farmers filing their nominations from Varanasi.
Hyderabad: Relations between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana state Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao have soured after the seizure of Rs 8 crore from BJP supporters in Hyderabad, and the filing of nominations by turmeric farmers from the state against Mr Modi in Varanasi.
The BJP president seems to have told the Telangana Chief Minister that it is well known that to file a nomination for the Lok Sabha elections, a candidate needs to get 10 local people propose his or her name. “Despite knowing that local people are not available to propose the candidatures of the turmeric farmers in Varanasi, they were sent there by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to defame Mr Modi for this and to attract media attention,” Mr Shah alleged.
Mr Rao denied that his party had any hand in the turmeric farmers filing their nominations from Varanasi.
He told Mr Shah that 150 turmeric farmers in Telangana had filed nominations from Nizamabad, where his daughter K. Kavitha was the TRS candidate. He also expressed anger at the linking of the TRS and the state government with these two incidents.
