Hanamkonda: Demanding the state government to take back its decision of land pooling, which was taken up illegally in the erstwhile Warangal district, the farmers of Parkala, Wardhannapet and Station Ghanpur constituencies staged a dharna in front of the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) office and tried to seize the Warangal Collectorate here in Hanamkonda on Monday.

The farmers in large numbers visited the grievance cell and indulged in heated discussions with the Municipal Commissioner and vice-chairman of KUDA, Praveenya, giving complaints about refusing to give up their lands.

Farmers Joint Action Committee convener Budde Peddanna alleged that when 100 acres of land belonged to MLAs and MPs and farm houses belonged them are present in the Hanamkonda and Warangal districts, the officials of KUDA are trying to grab the lands of innocent farmers to do real estate business.

Without prior information to the farmers and permission given by them, the officials secretly conducted land surveys in our fields and even gave a newspaper statement.

"If the government wants money, then all the farmers will start begging and gather money but should immediately stop the process of land pooling. Otherwise, the agitation will be intensified until justice is done to the farmers," he warned.
