Heavy rains in Karnataka raises concerns, precautions in place to ensure smooth polls
Mangaluru: In the past two days, several places in North and Coastal Karnataka have been experiencing heavy rain, leading officials to take necessary precautions to ensure the voting process is not impacted during the ongoing elections.
On Tuesday, Dharward, Kalaburagi, Gadag, and Haveri witnessed strong winds and rainfall, resulting in falling trees. The officials in charge of the mustering process also had to continue their work amidst the rain.
Officials have assured that they have taken all necessary steps to ensure that the voting process proceeds smoothly. "People should cast their votes. Though the voting is from morning till evening, we request people to go to the polling booth in the morning as there is rain alert in the afternoon," stated Belgaum Rural MLA Laxmi Hebbalkar in a press statement.
The officials have assured that necessary measures have been taken to ensure that the voting process will not be affected, even if it rains.
