We stand by our charges of mafia-run Dharani: Kodana Reddy, Mallu Ravi
HYDERABAD: Senior Congress leader M. Kodanda Reddy said the party had promised to make changes to the Dharani portal after closely examining the situation in the villages. He said that TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy's allegation that a big land mafia was working in the name of the portal was made after a thorough examination, and with great responsibility.
He said many scams were occurring in the name of the Dharani portal. He claimed that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had had as his (then) chief secretary a person facing allegations of corruption running into thousands of crores.
“The land given to the poor by the Congress governments is being taken over forcibly. We ensured land declaration after consultations with experts. Farmers are being forced to end their lives owing to the misuse of Dharani. The land documents should not be given without a proper survey,” Kodanda Reddy said and added, “We will bring a title guarantee Act for lands and protect their rights.”
Speaking at the meeting, senior TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi said, “The Congress is not averse to the adoption of new technology. The Dharani website is in the hands of private persons. Assigned lands are being handed over to corporate houses at throwaway prices,” he alleged.
