Party worked a lot for tribals, claims Congress
HYDERABAD: The Congress would reach out to Adivasis on Tribal Day on Wednesday, with party leaders spending time in the hamlets. “We will explain to them that we will abide by the Udaipur Declaration of the party,” said TPCC working president Mahesh Kumar Goud.
Dr T. Bellaiah Naik of the Adivasi Congress flayed the BJP for driving fear among the tribals. “We will explain what the Congress had done and would do in the future for them by visiting and residing in their houses,” he said.
A meeting of Adivasis will be held at Gandhi Bhavan on August 13. TPCC senior vice president Mallu Ravi said the Uniform Civil Code being proposed by the BJP was inimical to the interests of the tribals. “We will explain this to them,” he said.
