BJP road show unlikely as SPG reluctant, says MLC Madhav
VISHAKHAPATNAM: A grand roadshow proposed by the state unit of the BJP to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 11 may not take place, as per the latest reports. The party proposed a roadshow from NAD to Kancharapalem temple and, as an alternative, sought permission to hold the show at RK Beach. The proposal is to start the show at 7.30 pm on November 11, the moment the Prime Minister lands in Visakhapatnam.
“We have clearance from party headquarters in Delhi, but SPG seems reluctant to accord permission,” said senior party leader and MLC P.V.N. Madhav.
However, the Delhi leaders asked the local leaders to go ahead with the preparations for the road show as last-minute approval might be given. Meanwhile, the ruling YSRC is mobilising people to attend the public meeting in large numbers.
According to the tentative schedule, the Prime Minister will depart from Madurai airport by Indian Air Force aircraft at 5.30 pm and arrive at Visakhapatnam airport at 7.25. From there, he would move to the Eastern Naval Command area, where he would stay overnight.
On November 12, the Prime Minister will leave the Eastern Naval Command area at 10.10 am and reach the Andhra University grounds at 10.30 am.
He will participate in foundation laying ceremonies and the dedication of various projects to the nation at the Andhra University grounds from 10.30 am to 11.45 am. He will leave the university grounds at 11.45 am and reach the airport at 12 pm. He will depart at 12.05 pm by IAF aircraft and reach Begumpet airport, Hyderabad, at 01.10 pm.
