Farmers\' march: High Court grants anticipatory bail to three private security staff
The guards were engaged for the protection of the Lord Venkateswara chariot during the farmers’ march
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has granted anticipatory bail to three private security personnel in connection with a case linked to the padayatra by farmers from Amaravati region.
The three guards are M. Durga Prasad, O. Rama Koteswara Rao and K. Chaitanya, who had been engaged for the protection of the Lord Venkateswara chariot during the farmers’ march.
A Single Judge Bench, headed by Justice Srinivasa Reddy, heard a petition filed by private security guard Durga Prasad and two others here on Tuesday. They sought anticipatory bail as they were booked in the case based on a complaint lodged by the Ramachandrapuram DSP Balachandra Reddy.
Petitioiners’ counsel Lakshmi Narayana argued that the police booked a false case against the three private security guards. He submitted to the court that the DSP attacked the security personnel and took away hard disks from the chariot.
He informed the court that even as the issue of implicating them in a false case was taken to the notice of the concerned SP and DGP, no action was taken.
