VIJAYAWADA: State ministers, legislators and leaders increased the tempo of their campaign regarding the development and welfare schemes of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government on the eleventh day of the YSR Congress Samajika Sadhikara bus yatra on Thursday. Continuing their attack against N. Chandrababu Naidu they asked him as to why the Telugu Desam was closed in Telangana State.

Meanwhile, people from Pamarru in Krishna district, who turned up in large
numbers, were enthralled seeing the bus Yatra. ‘Johar YSR’ and ‘Jai Jagan’
slogans resonated across Pamarru.

Commencing the public meeting after paying floral tributes to the bronze
statue of Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, social welfare minister Merugu Nagarjuna
said, ‘Many political stalwarts have initiated movements to address and
eliminate social disparities among the backward classes. However, our Chief
Minister’s role in spearheading a similar social revolution will go down in
history as a momentous event.’

He explained about the state government’s dedicated efforts aimed at the
overall development of BCs, SCs, STs and minorities and how they were
instrumental in driving social progress, development and equality among all
sections.

Minister for housing Jogi Ramesh wanted to know why Naidu, if he was the TD
national president, had closed the party in Telangana.

He claimed, “Of the 28 chief ministers in the country, Jagan Mohan Reddy is
the only one to follow social justice and dharma. 17 of 25 ministerial posts
have been given to BCs, SCs, STs and minorities. The Speaker is a BC, the
Council chairman a SC and its vice-chairman is from the minority community.”

Ramesh criticized Pawan Kalyan’s claims that Jana Sena had evolved a
multifaceted strategy. He said that it was a strategy of cheats aimed at
ensuring Naidu’s win. He claimed that even if Naidu, Pawan, Lokesh, Ramoji
Rao, Radhakrishna and B.R. Naidu plan a strategy, they will be wiped out in
the elections as Jagan enjoys the support of BCs, SCs, STs, minorities and
kapus. He pointed out that BC leaders Mopidevi Venkataramana, P.S.C. Bose,
R. Krishnaiah and Beeda Mastan Rao made it to the Rajya Sabha because of
Jagan’s largesse whereas Naidu had backstabbed Dalit leader Varla Ramaiah.
After assuring him of a Rajya Sabha seat, Naidu sold the MP seat to
Kanakamedala Ravindrakumar for Rs 100 crore.

MP Mopidevi Venkataramana stated ‘Until 2019, social empowerment remained a mere slogan for all leaders. But Jagan has relentlessly championed the cause
of social empowerment, ensuring 100% justice in this regard. Furthermore, he
has provided significant political representation to BCs, SCs, STs, and
minority communities, who were previously used as a mere vote bank.’

MP Nandigam Suresh, MLAs Kolusu Parthasarathy and SK. Mohammad Mustafa, local MLA Kaile Anil Kumar, among others, also addressed the public meeting.
