ANANTAPUR: Hindu organisations have objected to comments of YSRC MLA and former minister M. Shankara Narayana made during a Pre-Christmas Programme at Penukonda in Satya Sai district on Saturday.

While addressing the pre-Christmas gathering, Shankara Narayana observed that those going for darshan of God seek blessings that they should be happy, while those who pray to Jesus seek happiness and prosperity for the entire society.”

“This is a great thing. I feel happy to be part of the pre-Christmas programme and seek blessings of Jesus,” the Penukonda MLA stated.

In fact, Shankara Narayana is on deeksha and had been wearing the traditional dress when speaking at the pre-Christmas programme

However, his statement has not gone down well with Hindu organisations and parties. They have objected to his comments and demanded that he take back his words.

When contacted, the Penukonda MLA told Deccan Chronicle he had no intention of criticising the Hindu traditions.
