BRS afraid of probe into KLIS, power scams: Ponnam
Karimnagar: Transport and BC welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Wednesday said that a judicial inquiry would be conducted not only into the irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme but also into the irregularities in the power sector, apart from the vigilance inquiry on Yadadri Power Plant.
He asked why the BRS leaders, who had challenged the Congress government on investigations, were fearing the announcements of these inquiries by the Congress government. The KLIS built at a cost of Rs 1 lakh crores by the BRS government did not even work properly for at least nine months, he alleged.
Ponnam, along with Manakondur MLA Dr K.Satyanarayana participated in various developmental works and launched a bus shelter, bus services between Kondapalkala and Chenjarla villages and an open-air gymnasium at Nijayatipally in Manakondur mandal of Karimnagar district.
The BRS leaders must welcome the move by the Congress government and cooperate with vigilance officials by submitting all the records of the KLIS and the irregularities in its construction if any, the minister said.
“All those who got jobs in Zenco and various government departments through the backdoor during the BRS regime must quit immediately and voluntarily without waiting for action to be taken against them,” he warned.
“The BJP is befriending the BRS in Delhi and feigning enmity in galli (state) only to deceive the people of Telangana. BJP state chief G. Kishan Reddy, who is a binami to former chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, is trying to save the latter and his party from scams, he alleged.
He also promised to take steps against land grabbers and sand mafia during the BRS rule following complaints from victims.
