Kuppam and Hindupur will Vote for YSRC, Claims Peddireddy
Anantapur: YSRC’s Rayalaseema regional coordinator and minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy has claimed that the party would win both Kuppam and Hindupur in the 2024 polls.
“These constituencies had seen poor initiative on the part of the people’s representatives so far and there was very little development at the behest of MLAs - Chandrababu Naidu and his brother-in-law Nandamuri Balakrishna,” he said.
The regional coordinator ruled out any Congress impact on YSRC prospects even if more leaders joined the national party “that bifurcated the united Andhra Pradesh.”
Ramachandra Reddy was currently on his six-day tour of Hindupur assembly segment to strengthen the YSRC machinery and wrest the Hindupur seat from the TD. Hindupur remained a TD-stronghold for more than three decades.
The coordinator made efforts to solve differences among the YSRC leaders in all villages and gram panchayats. He held several meetings along with MLA candidate Deepika and MP candidate J Santha and others in the segment.
Speaking to the media, Ramachandra Reddy stressed that the party high command would be fielding BC women from Hindupur Lok Sabha and Hindupur assembly constituencies. Referring to the failure of the party to win the seat in past elections, the regional coordinator said this was due to a lack of strong leadership for the party in Hindupur. “This time, we would win the seat as the people are happy with chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy because of his implementation of several welfare schemes.”
“During my visits in villages of Hindupur, people were clearly saying there was no development to their areas during the past ten years when TD’s Balakrishna was the MLA,” he said.
The regional coordinator claimed that YSRC candidates would win both Kuppam and Hindupur. “Our party surveys are clearly stating that the people are unhappy with their MLAs in these two constituencies, due to lack of area development.”
“Out of a fear of defeat from Kuppam, Chandrababu Naidu is planning to contest from another assembly segment. A similar situation exists in Hindupur,” he predicted.
Ramachandra Reddy made it clear that the government and the YSRC are not using the sachivalayam staff for boosting the ruling party’s chances in the elections as was alleged by the TD and JS.
