Learn from your Chhattisgarh counterpart, Uttam tells KCR
HYDERABAD: Emphasising the way Congress-ruled states like Chhattisgarh were implementing welfare schemes better than in Telangana, former PCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and other leaders urged Karimnagar voters to ensure the party's win in the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections.
Addressing a public meeting at Karimnagar, the Lok Sabha member said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao should be ashamed that his Chhattisgarh counterpart Bhupesh Baghel has proved how a state with less than half of Telangana state Budget could transform farming and make the life of farmers more meaningful.
“By offering an MSP of ₹ 2,640, the Chhattisgarh government has set an example. Congress, if it comes to power, will offer more than what is currently being provided as MSP to farmers” he assured.
While reminding Rao of his failed promises, including unemployment allowance, Reddy said that the Baghel government was providing ₹ 2,500 as a monthly allowance. “The Congress in Telangana will honour its assurance of giving ₹ 3000 unemployment allowance when it comes to power,” he said.
Urging the Muslim voters to ensure a Congress win, the Nalgonda MP asserted that it was only the Congress and Rahul Gandhi who could unseat the NDA government at the Centre.
CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka felt that the BRS government was creating unnecessary hype over the effectiveness of projects like Kaleshwaram. “The projects that are actually supporting irrigation are those that came up when Congress was heading the government in the undivided Andhra Pradesh,” he pointed out.
“Even animal dung is being procured to support the economy. When Telangana has Rs five lakh crore as debt, Chhattisgarh has only ₹ 83,125 crore,” Bhatti added.
Former minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir urged the chief minister and K.T. Rama Rao to recall their assurances to transform Karimnagar into Dallas. He questioned why the BRS government failed in generating employment to Muslim youth.
