Revanth urges teachers to vote for Harshavardhan

HYDERABAD: TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy appealed to teacher-voters to elect party candidate Galreddy Harshavardhan Reddy in the Mahbubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad teachers' constituency biennial election to the Legislative Council to be held on March 13.

In an open letter to the voters, he stressed that the Congress would fight for implementation of service rules, scrapping of CPS (contributory pension scheme), scrapping of GO 317 and restoring nativity, restoration of time-scale which were implemented by the previous Congress government.

Reddy assured that the party would fight for appointment of wardens in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (BGBV) model schools and continuation of the fight for regularisation of staff, apart from taking up the issue of promotions for language pundits and physical education teachers, regularisation of contract teachers and provide health cards for staff working in residential and KGBV model schools.

Revanth Reddy also assured that Harshavardhan REddy, the founder of PRTU (Progressive Recognised Teachers Union), if elected, would build pressure on the government over implementation of a new pay revision commission. He said Harshavardhan Reddy will fight for implementation of the old pension scheme.
