Bhatti says KCR grabbing land given to poor

HYDERABAD: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday that the time had come to bring down the K. Chandrshekar Rao government that was “devouring” land of the poor that had been given by previous Congress government.

Addressing the media at Badangpet in Maheswaram constituency on Tuesday, Bhatti said the BRS which came to power by dangling the promise of double bedroom houses, three acres of land to the poor and downtrodden had failed to keep its election promises but had also been seizing the land distributed to the poor.

“Anyone who questions the injustice is being slapped with cases and arrested. The houses constructed by the poor on the sites given to them by the earlier governments with full rights are being demolished. People are being subjected to state violence and terror in the heart of the state capital,” he alleged.

Bhatti called upon the intellectuals that the time has come to raise their voice against the abuse of human rights.

He said the BRS government had usurped about 10,000 acres of land worth '5 lakh crore in the Ibrahimpatnam constituency alone. It also took away land of the poor around Hyderabad worth '25 lakh crore. The land seized from the poor were given to the companies of rich individuals, corporates and for auction in the form of HMDA layouts, the Congress leader alleged.
