Adilabad: Differences Erupt After Congress Announces Mandal Committees
ADILABAD: The newly announced Congress mandal committees have resulted in a division among second rung leaders across Assembly constituencies. Many ticket aspirants lobbied for inclusion of their supporters in the mandal committees.
The mandal committees have furthered the differences among ticket aspirants in some Assembly constituencies in Adilabad district.
Ironically, Adilabad DCC president Sajid Khan signed on two proposed lists of leaders for the same mandal committees in Khanapur Assembly constituency.
They were brought to him by ticket aspirants Vedma Bojju and Bharath Chowhan. Former minister Ramachander Reddy also signed on the two lists.
Differences cropped up after the appointment of mandal and town presidents of Jannaram mandal and Utnoor town. Bojju alleged that inactive leaders were made as presidents for some mandals and towns in Khanapur constituency.
He approached TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy and ensured revised mandal committees with active candidates as presidents for some mandals and towns.
There are strong allegations that senior Congress leaders had played a double game as far as recommending names to mandal committees. Meanwhile, there are problems in announcing new mandal committees in Nirmal district since there is no DCC president and Komaram Bheem Asifabad DCC president K. Vishwaprasad is in-charge of Nirmal district.
