Karnataka Cabinet dismisses erring officials

BENGALURU: The Karnataka cabinet meeting on Thursday dismissed two erring officials from services and two others from the department of Health and Family Welfare Services on compulsory retirement.

Giving details of the sacked government employees, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs H.K. Patil said Dr M.H. Nagesh, assistant commissioner to Commercial Taxes department has been sentenced to simple imprisonment for 5 years convicted by a Sessions in misappropriation of funds case and based on it, Nagesh has been dismissed from the service, the cabinet meeting decided.

S.N. Halliguddi, a Block Education Officer (BEO) of Mundaragi in Gadag district, Patil said the cabinet meeting decided to dismiss him from service after he was found guilty under Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POSCO) filed at Mundaragi police station.

In the department of Health and Family Welfare Services, Patil said Dr Usha Kundaragi, senior obstetrician attached to District Hospital in Ramnagar district was trapped by sleuths of Lokayukta and a department enquiry also proved the charge against her. The cabinet meeting decided to send her on compulsory retirement.

In another case, Patil said the cabinet meeting decided to send Dr S.T. Nagamani on compulsory retirement and she was trapped by Lokayukta sleuths and department enquiry also found her guilty. Nagamani was trapped while serving in C.V. Raman Nagar Hospital in Bengaluru.
