Hyderabad: MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi said his innermost desire was to have a coalition government at Centre as it fosterd economic growth and was inclusive in nature.

“We had a single party in 2009 with the Congress having 200-odd MPs. In 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had 280 seats with a 56” chest. Unfortunately, in the last four years, we haven’t seen substantial growth.

We haven’t seen equality and we have seen sudden decisions overnight which I feel are arbitrary and dictatorial. A coalition government will be inclusive as compared to the exclusive nature of this government,” Mr Owaisi said.

He was speaking at a panel discussion at the ISB leadership summit along with other party leaders. He said the right political environment was being created for the coalition government and regional parties would play an important role in ensuring that Mr Modi did not become Prime Minister to “create more disasters like demonetisation”.

Taking a jibe at Jio Institute, which was given the tag of ‘Institution of Eminence’ by the HRD Ministry before it had commenced, Mr Owaisi said, “ISB is a great place, an institute of excellence where you have great research and faculty. But why I want a coalition is because you lost to Jio.”
