Chennai: State Minister for Sports Development Udhayanidhi Stalin said that principles mattered to him more than the Minister’s position and averred to speaking continuously against Sanatana Dharma.

He was replying to a question from media persons on the BJP demanding the removal of him and HR & CE Minister P K Sekar Babu from the Ministry in the aftermath of his remarks on Sanatana Dharma.

Udhaynidhi Stalin met the media after taking part in a meeting of the DMK’s newly formed Sports Development wing, when he said that he had not said anything more than what leaders like Ambedkar, Periyar E V Ramasamy and C N Annadurai had spoken on Sanatana Dharma.

He told the media persons to find out from the leaders of the party that had Annadurai’s name in its nomenclature what their stand was on Sanatana Dharma.

When asked if he saw the recent onslaught on him as a personal attack, he replied in the negative, saying that the target was only the principles.
